What is the CSR certification system of All Japan Federation of Printing Industry Associations?
All Japan Federation of Printing Industry Associations worked with under the supervision of Professor Kageyama of Yokohama City University, who is one of the foremost experts on CSR study in Japan, to formulate a checklist for CSR initiatives for small- and medium-sized printing companies. This checklist is used to assess and certify companies’ level of CSR achievements as well as to support the further growth and development of theirs. This initiative was taken as one of the measures to tackle new challenges while the circumstances, such as environment, safety, energy, welfare, and lifestyles, surrounding the companies are changing vastly and becoming ever demanding.
The UN Global Compact (UNGC) is a partnership between the United Nations and the private sector (companies and groups), and is the world’s largest sustainability initiative aiming to build a sound global society. It aims to ensure that each company and group is driven by responsible, creative leadership, allowing them to act as good members of society, autonomously achieving sustainable growth. Based on a commitment by the management to 10 principles including safeguarding human rights, eliminating unfair labor practices, being mindful of the environment, and preventing corruption, companies and groups signatory to the UNGC continue to work toward achieving its goals. Asahi Printing signed the UNGC in June 2021. As a signatory company to the UNGC principles, we will continue to engage in safeguarding human rights, eliminating unfair labor practices, being mindful of the environment, and preventing corruption, working steadfastly toward achieving its goals.
